Canary Islands Gallery 2015 - 2020

In September 2015 I spent three weeks on Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands. This included a daytrip to the neighboring island of La Gomera and a boat trip for whale watching.

The initial photos were made with a Fujifilm X-E2 camera. Unfortunately, the camera gave up the ghost without any obvious reason after a few days (surprise!). I continued making photos with my wife's Nikon Coolpix P 7100 for a short while but then decided to buy a new camera. In Santa Cruz de Tenerife I finally found an electronics store featuring a camera kit which promised to meet my requirements (Olympus OM-D E-M10 + 14-42 mm lens + 40-150 mm lens). Since this camera has a good reputation and the price was very reasonable, I bought it. I did not regret my decision since the Olympus worked to my full satisfaction. The Micro Four Thirds format offers an excellent balance between image quality and compactness of the equipment.

The following photos were made during a 10-day trip to Fuerteventura in November 2017. The inner part of the island proved to be a barren volcanic desert in most places.
