The trip in September / October 2024 was a little different from the previous ones. This time my wife and I decided to have a more relaxing vacation instead of driving thousands of miles like we used to. Through a personal contact we got the opportunity to rent a very nice vacation home in the greater St. George area (Utah). So we flew to Las Vegas, stayed a few days in the vicinity, including Death Valley NP, and moved on to Utah where we stayed for six weeks. From there, we made a number of short trips to near-by parks and other attractions. Photos were taken with a Fuji X-E2 (DX format) and an Olympus PEN-F (MFT format). Both cameras are not quite up to date anymore but have a decent build quality and still produce excellent images.

With temperatures up to 118 F (48 C) and strong winds, taking photos in Death Valley was no easy task, and it was simply impossible to stay out of the (air-conditioned) car for more than a few minutes at a time.
