In August 2009 I made a short trip to Scotland. After watching the phantastic Military Tattoo in Edinburgh, I joined a guided tour through the country. What I found surpassed my expectations by far. Scotland has an unbelievably rich cultural heritage and is literally packed with castles, abbeys, and other historic monuments, not to speak of the breathtaking landscapes. The Scots are a proud people molded by centuries of wars, hardship, and struggle for life. I could nothing but like them. I even learned to appreciate the taste of Haggis and the sound of the bagpipe...
